Lake Titisee

Lake Titisee was formed by glacier melt in the Pleistocene era and is situated in the dense groves of the Blake Forest which makes it perfect for a peaceful family getaway. It is the largest natural lake and a very special destination in the Black Forest. There are a range of activities available (paddle boating, sailing, swimming, boating, hiking, cycling, or strolling on the promenade) so everyone will be sure to have a good time.

Walk or ride bikes into the famous spa town of Titisee-Neustadt (Titisee-Neustadt vacation rentals | Titisee-Neustadt travel guide). Known for its curative Kneipp hydrotherapy, thousands of people would come here for health and fitness treatments. The town consists of the districts Neustadt, Titisee, Rudenberg, black creek, and northern Waldau. The altitude ranges from 1190m (white fir height) to 1192m (Hochfirst) and 845.50m.

There are numerous hiking trails around the municipality suitable for short walks or all-day hikes. Both north-south and east-west long-distance footpaths across the Black Forest pass through Titisee-Neustadt: of the three main north-south routes, the Westweg passes through Titisee and the Mittelweg through Neustadt, while the longest established east-west route, the Schwarzwald-Querweg Freiburg-Bodensee, passes around the south and east shores of the lake and then climbs the Hochfirst. The European walking route E1 follows the route of the Westweg in this section.
